Use Tapping to Self-Regulate

Tapping, also known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is a simple tool that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points with mindful awareness of what you’re feeling.
The acupressure points used most often are on the face around the eyes, under the nose, and on the chin. There are also points on the collarbone, under the arm and on top of the head.
It may look a little unusual at first, but it’s incredibly easy to learn and can become a powerful way to calm your nervous system in just a few minutes.

What I love most about tapping is that it’s practical. You don’t need special equipment, hours of free time, or perfect circumstances to use it. You can tap quietly in bed, in your car, before a stressful conversation, or during a difficult moment in your day.
I personally use tapping when my mind is racing at night and I’m struggling to fall asleep. I also use it to help manage food cravings and in moments of generalized anxiety. During coaching sessions, I guide clients through tapping as well because it helps them slow down, connect with what they are experiencing, and feel more emotionally grounded. They often report feeling much better, and sometimes exhausted after Tapping, which is understandable because it can be an emotional "workout".
One of the biggest misconceptions about self-regulation tools is that they’re supposed to make “bad” emotions disappear. Tapping is not about forcing yourself to feel positive or pretending difficult emotions aren’t there.
Instead, it helps send a message to your brain and body: It’s safe to feel what I’m feeling.
That shift matters.
When your nervous system feels safe enough to experience emotions without panic, suppression, or avoidance behaviors, you begin building emotional resilience.
You learn that discomfort is something you can move through rather than something you must immediately avoid.
Over time, tapping can help create a stronger relationship with yourself — one built on compassion, safety, and trust instead of fear or self-judgment.
Individual Tapping sessions are now available. Schedule yours HERE.
