The Music That Nurtures Me

Writer: Meredith GardnerMeredith Gardner

As I wrap up this month focused on Nurturing, I wanted to share with you some of the music that nurtures me.

When I need to quiet my mind, I play this song.  I usually listen to it twice (or three, four, five etc. times).

Nurture yourself with an inspiring playlist

When I want to groove, I play songs by my girl Kelly Clarkson. This is one of my favorites.

This one reminds me of being young and carefree - even though I never belonged to a band 😘

When I want to feel courageous, I turn to this song by gifted singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles.

When I need inspiration and a reminder of God’s love, I LOVE music by Lauren Daigle.

The music of Les Miserables brings me joy. I’ve been listening to it since I was 19 and I cry nearly every time I hear this song

Nurture yourself with a meaningful playlist

Music by James Taylor helps me feel connected to the memories of family road trips with my husband and children.

Singing along with Mary Chapin Carpenter in concert last year was the realization of something I've wanted to do for decades and I lost it when she sang this one.

When I’m feeling powerful emotions, I turn to stirring ballads like this one by one of my favorites.

I simply cannot hold still when I listen to some of these. Moving my body in rhythm is just as therapeutic as the music itself.

What would you add to your Nurturing Music playlist?

Think of the music that lifts you up. The music that sustains and encourages you.

The music you turn to when you’re feeling low.

Feeling deeply.

When you’re celebrating

Or content

Or nostalgic.

Then, please share some of them with me at support@meredithgcoaching.com

Meredith
